Arsenal 3-0 Manchester United: Fans react by demanding Van Gaal drops Rooney
The Louis van Gaal fan club was noticeably quiet as Man Utd fans reacted to their Premier League humbling at Arsenal.
Manchester United will go into another international break on the back of a defeat but few could have predicted it would be so chastening.
Arsenal gave United a chasing from the first minute to beat The Reds 3-0 at home for the first time since September 1998, a match in which United were reduced to 10 men at Highbury.
United are now third in the Premier League table and they will not want to glance at the goal difference column. Arsenal's ruthlessness has allowed them to leapfrog Louis van Gaal's side.
For those supporters who paid the £64 to watch a match reminiscent of the David Moyesera, they have a fortnight to wait until their next trip - at Everton. A ground United also lost 3-0 at under Van Gaal.
